Object: exercise helps
Exercise really improves my mood. It seems to reduce both anxiety and
depression. Exercising puts me in a calm, pleasant state.
If I lived in a low stress environment, ate healthy food and exercised
regularly, I think I would be able to live a normal life without the psych
meds.

I should remember this, although I have no personal
objections to maintenance meds (not saying you do)
Right now my excuse is that I have a sore throat.

Maintenance meds are ok if they are needed. I'd rather not need to take
psych meds though, because of the expense and the side effects of the meds.

Well now, you CAN control two of those three things: healthy food choices and
regular exercise. And given some time and judicious choices you CAN get yourself
into a low stress environment.

Can you find a new job? Can you find a new employer? Can you move to a new city?
These are things that are done over a longer period of time (could be weeks,
could be months) and where you can make choices. And moving to a different work
environment gives you some choice as to who you work with; more important, it
allows you to enter into new friendships.
Here's a thought: look into career counselling. Some places offer workshops
where the participants become one anothers' support group. Some places offer
individual counselling. Either way, you would benefit from guidance in how to
market yourself.

The USSR did, the US state department just wouldn't let Americans hear

The stipulation for having a nice wife however also meant that you had
to take possession of a Trabant.
