Object: Feel like an outcast on campus
Semester is under way for a week and still the same problems:
I feel very anxious in my classes, most people there have friends and I'm
sitting there by myself.
When i go to say something, like "what's your name," I start to stutter and
it comes out awkward.
My Jogging teacher referred to me as "big guy" when talking to me. He's 6
foot some, i'm 5'6". I don't like it.
My Religion class is hilarious. We sit around in a circle, talk about books,
when I try to contribute and say something funny, people look at me like i'm
an idiot.
I just feel extremely outcasted and misunderstood. So many beautiful girls
on campus, so many smart people, I have to scratch and claw to even come
close to competing, and socially i'm bankrupt.
In my computer piracy class we sit there and read fake articles on a killer
robot, and a programmer got charged wtih manslaughter. Then we discuss the
"issues" of these stories. A complete waste of my time, I am completely
against a liberal arts college now.
Just walking around I feel so overmatched. the guys and girls are taller,
bigger, and more attractive than I am, I feel outmatched, outclassed, and
out of my league.

So find some pleasant losers to hang out with!
And what'd you expect from a religion class? That's exactly the kind of
place where you'd find self-important jackasses. Like philosophy classes.

Why are you taking all these introductory survey type

sound like courses a first year student would take
(along with things like math, english, history, a lab

At my school you have to take a Physical Education class ever year, I chose
jogging.
My Religion 245 class is Religion and Politics which settles the Morals
Requirement
My Piracy 295 class settles the ethics requirement.

Do like I did and get into drugs and the partying scene, I managed to meet a
whole bunch of people.
Probably says something that I don't keep in touch with any of them now. But
it *was* the only time I felt like I had a rewarding?? social life.
Drugs are bad, m'kay.

So glad you added that. ANd I am taking your advise is sarcasism
right? Surely you are not advocating that somebody goes in for the
drug culture?

I remember those kinds of friends. Some of them are dead and many did time
in prison (especially the "I can smell a cop from a mile away" types).
Just about put me off on the idea of friends.

That is not great pedagogy. Do you think you could politely tell
him, when no one else is around, that some ppl your height would
not like that?
