Object: feeling guilty
I think I am genuinely sick, but I took the day off work today and now I
feel guilty about it. I don't have any sick leave so I'm going to have
to take the day off without pay.
I crashed into bed at 9pm last night with a migraine, and my head is
better this morning, but my throat is a bit sore and I'm not that far
off losing my voice. I feel dizzy and lethargic and crappy, but I often
do. This is a bit worse than normal.
I wish there was a button you could press, and a printout came out of my
belly button or something which told me whether I should work or not for
physical illness, and whether I should call my therp or pdoc for bad
psych days. I need some sort of internal diagnostic. I don't trust my
own judgement on these things at all.

What a coincidence, my throat's sore too (just started in the middle
of the night, I think what woke me up) but yours sounds a lot worse :-
( You definitely sound like you've got something, certainly ill
enough IMHO to stay home...are you taking anything? You're already
'paying the price', so to speak, of having to take the day off due to
illness. You don't need to add guilt on top of being sick and not
getting paid. I hope you feel better today. Take care...

I've got a bad cold atm and even if I didn't I'd have
the shites. No, I'm not even being paid ATM, too many
things going on.

I know exactly what you mean. I do the same thing - usually I force
myself to go to work when it turns out I'm really sick, but it works
the other way, too.

The opinions given above may be mine. They might also
just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?

Yeah, that's what I keep telling myself...

Don't feel guilty. My mother does that, and so works unless she
has a high fever. As a result, every time she gets a virus, it
turns to bad bronchitis. It's not worth it. I hope you got some
good rest.
