Feeling OK late in the day |
Anybody else get this?
I generally feel pretty bad during the daytime but improve towards the
evening. Not great but almost normal....
Also, some days for no apparent reason, I might feel much better in
the morning for a few hours. Weird....

tests run.

When I was badly depressed last year it would hit me the second I
became conciously aware of being awake in the morning. The pain would
hit me like a ton of bricks as soon as I opened my eyes. Sometimes
lately it hits me at night as the day is winding down and as I feel
sadder and sadder and disappointed about life I don't know what to do
with myself. In my humble opinion, it hits when it hits and sometimes
there are factors I can point to that are triggering my depression and
sometimes it hits me without any reason whatsoever.

I'm sorry things are so difficult for you right now. I wish no one
had to suffer from this sometimes debilitating illness. I hope you're
getting professional help.

Hi. I think for some people feeling better in the evening is because
there is nothing they have to do or face. So they go from feeling too
fatigued to feeling good. Also I believe it is very common to feel
low or not wanting to get going in the morning.

Sorry about the depression. I'm glad the nightmares are better,
though. Are you medicating?

For me, hard to tell. I spend up to a couple of hours in the morning
in a half awake half asleep state I don't want to leave, the traffic
noise
on the road outside tends to start up and end that, so I get up at
06:30
or so. I'll be quite happy sleeping, or in that state to 10:00 or
later if
there is no noise.
I'll meybe just not care in the mid afternoon, and feel tired, or do
something
I don't want to. At night (22:32) as I type this I could, and likely
soon will go
to sleep.
Sleep is the best part of my life.

I'm generally fine when I'm keeping myself busy with work or other
things..it's when I stop to supposedly 'relax' and take a breather
that my thoughts start to wander into 'dark places' without any
warning...it's almost automatic :) ....I guess that things are pretty
mixed for people, different routines, time and space, places and
people ...guess there will be different 'triggers' for different
people, much of it subconscious....I think the answer probably lies in
knowing and understanding your own personal 'triggers' ( a lot of self-
anaysis required! ), until you understand what sets you off, it's
dificult to deal with......maybe you could keep a diary of sorts on
your moods for a wee while, but you'd need to add in other external
factors that could be affecting it..eg. your thoughts and
activities...it's only a suggestion, but it might help you get to the
root of the fluctuations..

Feeling worse in the morning seems to be typical. I don't do
things the usual way, so I'm much worse at night. That's a
problem, since most everyone I'd use for support is sleeping
when the crisis really hits. So I guess you're doing something
right.

Feeling worse in the morning is called 'typical' depression. Like Lisa I
have 'atypical', worse at night. The last I read was that there's not
much numerical difference between the two, so maybe the names aren't
particularly helpful, except as treatment indicators.
I sometimes get good periods at night, which is the equivalent of your
good mornings. Depression doesn't seem to have many rules.

The opinions given above may be mine. They might also
just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?
