feeling strange |
last night when i cleaned the microwave oven and the electric stove, i
became very sweaty. this is strange, since it wasn't very warm, and i don't
usually sweat much. i also felt very hungry afterwards, so i decided to have
some cereal. once i started eating, i couldn't stop!!! i ate far too much.
then i sat down on the couch and watched tv, and fell asleep (as usual). i
woke up after midnight and went to bed.
this brings up several issues: why the (cold) sweat? why the eating binge?
why can i never stay awake when i watch tv or listen to music in the
evening?
i also just thought about how much caffeine (in tea and in diet soda) i
consume at work, and wonder if i need to make sure i ingest as much caffeine
when i'm at home in order to feel ok.
i hope today will be better.

Go to a doctor and have a check for diabetes, you have never said how old
you are, but with your weight problem. Diabetes is a real possibility. Its a
simple blood test. .

Go get a check up from you regular doctor. Diabetes can have those symptoms or
even just Hypoglcemia.
You were working---your sugar dropped---that causes sweats---were you shaky
also? Can make you feel VERY hungry too---You ate and then slept.
I have gone through all of that. (I am diabetic)
BUT I AM NOT A DOCTOR.
If these attacks continue get it checked out. It could've just been a fluke.
Maybe you hadn't eaten anything properly before you began cleaning. Sometimes
people can have fluxes in their metabolism.
Your family doctor though can give you a better heads up on it all.
Get checked out.

i am diabetic, but i didn't think of the possibility that it could be
causing the symptoms. i guess if it happens again i'll check my blood
glucose.

may i add, in response to your questions above, that i didn't feel shaky or
weak, only sweaty, and i didn't feel hypoglycemic, although i don't really
know, since i didn't check.

Are your blood sugars under good control?
Do you ever dip below say 60 or lower?
If you have one of those attacks again do a glucose test and see. Not everyone
has the same symptoms. I know when I go hypo I can either sweaty or get
clammy---I get shaky--UNLESS it is really low and then I don't shake or
anything I just get really weird and sleepy. I also get hungry.
Be interesting to see if that is what is causing it---but talk to your doctor
about it when you see him next. Just to be on the safe side.
take care!

Hey there Sortalily, how is your 4th?
Yeah well Martie fartie could be diabetic, gay plot or not.....and you know
its a really nasty disease, just ask Wombyn, makes me sort of all warm and
snuggy inside thinking Martie has something that is gonna cause him real
physical discomfort. Maybe he just might learn a litttle something about
compassion and empathy.
