i was pretty satisfied with his efforts to help florida last year really. he
had MRE's and water and ice in florida after every hurricane even when there
was looting and flooding but for this hurricane, he's just not qualified.
they're even saying he lied on his resume. that sucks. he's in trouble now.
he could lose his job just for that.

He did.

Lose his job? He should be in jail. Lying on your resume when taking a
federal appointment is perjury.

I haven't heard too much about this. Apparently a Time Magazine article is
the source for suggesting her padded his resume. Others have said that the
Time article was botched.
The facts should be easy to find. The two bones of contention I heard were
him being (or not) a city deputy city manager somewhere, and him being (or
not) a professor at some college.

That's easy. Because Bush can't attack a female, Democrat governor of a
Southern state, even though she is clearly incompetent and can't make
decisions. He also can't attack a black, Democrat mayor, even though the
mayor is equally incompetent and criminally negligent (yes, elected
officials have immunity, but it is what it is.)
See, it *is* a race and gender issue. Bush had to dump the white male.
That's political expediency for you.

Yes, there's a whole buffet of blame out there - but don't you think Brown was
stunningly incompetent? Not only that, he made himself a national joke on
national television, from Williams on NBC to Koppel and Zahn.
Paula Zahn: Sir, you're not telling me, you're not telling me you just learned
that the folks at the convention center didn't have food and water until today
did you? You had no idea they were completely cut off?
FEMA's Brown: Paula, the federal government did not even know about the
convention center people until today.
-----
Ted Koppel: We've been reporting on the crisis at the Convention Center for
alot longer than just today, but you say that you only heard about it today?"
Brown: We only learned about it factually today.
-------
Come on. I think this had a little bit more to do with the color of this
incompetent fool's skin.

Maybe he was indicating that the government doesn't necessarily accept

It's up to the voters to deal with the mayor and the governor.

We'll have to see when all is said and done. Personally, I'm reluctant to
judge FEMA since it seems pretty clear that many people just want to take
the spotlight off Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin.
Have you noticed any Al Sharpton's or Jesse Jackson's blasting the
Democrats involved and Mayor Nagin in particular?

Blanco, Nagin, and Brown form an axis of incompetence.

L Sprague De Camp wrote some books about The Reluctant King.
In it he describes a kingdom where at the end of a five-year
reign, the king is beheaded, his noggin tossed into the crowd,
and whoever catches it gets to be the next king. The system
appeared to work just fine, although every five years the
incumbent king would flip his lid permanently, so to speak.
That would cut down on the number of career politicians.
