Final Update on Thyroid Cancer |
Hi Everyone,
Well for those who have not been in the whole loop I underwent my Radiation
Therapy a little over a week ago and had my final scan on Friday. The
Nuclear Med Doc's Assistant called me this morning to say, "The scans looked
good." What does this mean? It means, as usual nothing showed up in the
scans and we won't know until my next blood test if the treatment was
successful. My next blood test will be in six months, if my tumor marker
level drops then the treatment was successful. If the tumor marker level is
the same or higher, I'll be honest, I have no idea what the next step is.
Anyway hope all is well with everyone.
Jane

Hi, Jane, sending good thoughts your way. To me this sounds like a
good report. My friend had cancer, and she's been doing the six-month
blood testing for years now. It's a nervous time for her, but each
time gets easier. She's a cancer survivor, and you will be, too.
Hang in there, and no more McDonald's, girl!!! That stuff is GROSS!!
LOL! Jeanne

I'm glad the scans showed what you expected. I have a close family
member with cancer; I understand and can empathize how hard it can be
to wait till the next "all clear" test. I wish you the very best;
you've been in my thoughts all along and I'll be keeping you there.
