Finally got the boat out |
Yesterday. The weather has been very windy and as I have the boys as
crew I didn't feel confident taking it out. Yesterday was just perfect
and I rigged two holding lines so the kids could hold the boat while I
parked the trailer.
We didn't catch any fish despite our best efforts but it was pretty
good anyway. Cleared my head and blew out some cobwebs. The old Mercury
Blue Band 50 performed wonderfully. They don't make 'em like that
anymore. I opened her up till the tail plume disappeared and we all
whooped and hollered like mad people.
I get some real disdainfull looks as I launch the old 'dunger' but
inside I laugh at the wankers with there $30,000 worry toys. Mine can
do everything there's can but I am not worried about scratches and
dings. They just add more character to the old girl.

Well since we are being serious for a moment. I have a bilge pump and
hand bailer but she is a very dry boat and only needed the bilge pump
once when I forgot to put the bung plug in properly. Of course I have
life jackets all round and a paddle. A keel is for yachts not motor
boats. The underside is pretty heavily scored but you expect that on
old glass boats.

Most of the keelage comes from the motor which has it's own keel. The
boat just has ridges to help it keep straight. I'll send you some
photos when Judith gets back. Which is on Monday... Yay!

Yes it is. Your honesty scares me sometimes... I don't quite have the
courage that I would like to have in the area of calling people out. As
always, Dave, I learn a lot from you. The fact that others have
criticised me for that doesn't bother me a bit, that is my courage.

i like him too , and i hope i'm wrong as well ,
but when i take stalk of things we've said ,
to each other in the last ... maybe two weeks ,
and how i see things now , my feeling is what i said ,
just over a week ago ,
he went to make a presentation ,
for the company he's been with for 15 years ,
he's all worried how it will go , naturally ,
then after the fact by his own admission ,
he's been unemployed for the better part of 4 months ,
can you see it Glenn , can you see the discrepancy ?
Bugger, I had pre epostulation problem there. I am now worried that
I'll Google out any second now. Anyhoo...
I have seen too many errors in the 'truth' that online presents. Yet
you called him on it and he didn't really respond. Lets just leave it
there and see what develops. I can't tell you how uncomfortable this
makes me feel.

Yesterday. The weather has been very windy and as I have the boys as
crew I didn't feel confident taking it out. Yesterday was just perfect
and I rigged two holding lines so the kids could hold the boat while I
parked the trailer.
We didn't catch any fish despite our best efforts but it was pretty
good anyway. Cleared my head and blew out some cobwebs. The old Mercury
Blue Band 50 performed wonderfully. They don't make 'em like that
anymore. I opened her up till the tail plume disappeared and we all
whooped and hollered like mad people.
I get some real disdainfull looks as I launch the old 'dunger' but
inside I laugh at the wankers with there $30,000 worry toys. Mine can
do everything there's can but I am not worried about scratches and
dings. They just add more character to the old girl.
There is that to be said for experienced older women.
