finally had a therapy appointment |
I finally got in to see my therapist, after repeatedly calling her to try to
line up a time.
The down side of our Govenment bringing in a rebate for psychologists visits
which makes therapy heaps more affordable is that suddenly all the
therapists are really, really busy.
But she did apologise for not returning my calls, and it was a good session.
I'm still a bit shaky and unsure of myself, but I think I'm getting back on
my feet. I know I won't get back to the elation of a few weeks ago, that
was unsustainable, but I think I'm going to be ok.

That's good to hear Kylie. Personally, I think too much elation is
overrated. For bipolar's like me, elation is usually a bad sign, so I
suppose I don't trust it. I can't really say how it must feel in other
people, but maybe a more neutral ground is what you needed anyway.

"More affordable" sounds very
enlightened, Kylie, and maybe supply
will catch up with demand. It should
create more openings for those who want
to become therapists. Hopefully, they'll
be good ones.

Sounds like a very productive session
(to me). How often will you see her?

Hi Gayle,
I'm trying for fortnightly appointments, but it will depend on how busy she
is. I won't be able to get an appointment until mid January but she said
I'm welcome to call between now and then and she will get back to me. Then
I'll book some appointments in advance and see how I go.
It was a good session, but today I'm feeling flat again. But I've had a bad
migraine or sinus pain for 24 hours and i'm doped up on codine, so that's
most likely what's effecting my mood. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
