Finding the right Meds |
I've struggled with depression and alcoholism for the last 15 years.
Been on just about every anti-depressant you can think of, but recently
found the right mix. I've never felt better, honestly didn't know what
it was like to experience happiness and serenity. Step one was to stop
drinking, just celebrated my 6 month birthday December 18 (they call
them birthdays in AA). But I think the meds are equally important.
Here's what I'm on:
Effexor: 150mg XR once a day - morining
Lexapro: 20mg once a day - morning
Zyprexa: 10mg once a day - bedtime
Trazedone: 50mg once a day - bedtime
Adderall: 20mg twice a day - this is for ADD, not depression
Now if I could only start exercising and eating healthy...Good luck
everyone, depression sucks...

My response? Holy crap! Glad it's working for you seriously, I'm just
surprised that's all.

i did better for quite awhile on effexor and remeron. also, an
antipsychotic and a mood stabilizer. i didn't need a sleep med
at the time. btw, while you're taking the adderall for add, it
can also help depression.

Interesting combination. What time do you take the 2nd adderall?
I'm glad you found the mix that works for you, I think I've finally
found the right combo for me, took 5 years. Know what I know now, that's
not surprising.

HI Bob, the effexor has been a lifesaver for me. It has helped me so
much, and I've tried many many others...So good for you , and let me
know if you need an exercise/healthy eating support friend, because I
need to do those things too.

It might be time for a reevaluation. Quitting a habit like that can
really affect the amount of meds you have to take.

For the combination of alcohol and depression, a friend of mine says
he got a lot of help from the website, smartrecovery.org.
