A friend invited us to see fireworks. He has a house on this big hill, just
over a lake. His City fireworks were right over the lake, and from there, we
could see the fireworks for another 7 cities around here. Irvine, Tustin,
Anaheim (Disneyland), Costa Mesa, Tustin, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach...
Maybe more, I'm not really sure. very cool. I got some fun pictures :)

Same in my little community...some folks spent some serious $ and put on a
better show than the nearest large town could even begin to imagine.
And, being in a patriotic mood, here's some food for thought:

I hope and pray most if not all of our American military people will
be home soon, replaced by UN soldiers perhaps. I think a lot of Saddams
soldiers just blended into the hills, like the Al Qaeda. They are, after
all, fighting on land they know very well. Plus there are the
fundamnetalists, millions of them in the region. This is not a reciper for
a peaceful transition to a new Iraq. Bring our troops home, so they wont be
targets anymore.

I'm all in favor of that! The men and women in uniform over there really did
not deserve to be dragged into this quagmire.
