They've been 100% banned in the county, not even sparklers allowed.
First time it's been a *total* ban, the last couple years just
restricted it to the lame stuff.
It's just too dry so the Sheriff clamped it all down.
I don't know how business in the state to the north is doing because of
it though.
Still hear plenty of law breakers every night though.

Yeah, we have Fair St. Louis downtown at the Arch. I watch the
fireworks on t.v. Once they're over, traffic jam standstill for a
couple hours getting out, people love misery.
The air shows are okay, but you never know if you'll get stuck with the
bi-plane faggots doing loop-di-frickin'-loops or experience the 6 jet
F-15 formation fly over or the hovering harrier. Plus, everyone's
large, sweaty and eating gyro sandwiches...it's worse than Six Flags.

I took the metro link from the Illinois side a few years ago to catch the
fireworks at the Arch. Getting home was the biggest headache. Standing in
line to catch the metro back home people fighting and yelling not to mention
passing out from the heat. Never did it again after that. But the fireworks
and the fair was ok.

I did a similar mass transit headache to get downtown for the Y2K show,
but the only really good view turned out to be the one that people at
home got from the news helicopter. The aerial fireworks were largely
blocked by buildings. They did have a big showing from a tower on the
pedestrian mall - but *hardly* worth such hassle.

I live right down the street from a baseball field and a few miles from
a university stadium. So I get to see big firework shows at least twice
a month.

its not very big , about 40 feet long and 20 feet wide ,
and maybe three feet deep in the deepest part ,
but you wouldn't want to swim in it or anything ,
its better swimming in the river or one of the nearby lakes

because i live in a suburb, with other suburbs surrounding me, I get to
see several towns (er suburb's) firework displays, sometimes two or
more at about the same time. once I saw three finales all at once. i
was spinning around seeing fireworks going off everywhere.
then i had to stop because i was getting dizzy. but this year, im not
even bothering, better things too do. I could just look out of one of
the 2nd-story windows IN MY NEW HOUSE, to see one neighboring town's
finale.
but this is retarded. firework displays on the 1st of July ?

July 1 is Canada Day. Canadians set off fireworks on Canada Day. Percent lives
