Well, considering I only had 4 hours of sleep last night, my first day in
Dallas went pretty well.

I tried hooking up my laptop last night when I got in at 11 pm and
couldn't get it to work. After 4 hours of sleep, I thought the Ethernet
wall port might be bad so I drug my laptop to the lobby and tested it with
the cable there. It still didn't work so I knew it was something in the
laptop. Here I was rewiring stuff in the lobby at 4 am.

After a while I found the wrong setting in the laptop. I'd changed it
many months ago for a special project and totally forgot about changing it
back again. So it was my fault.

Anyway, I'm online here for the next week.

The day went well. So far it's been typical HR stuff, history of the
company, meeting with execs, etc. Informative but also a lot of down and
idle time. Our class was at the bottom of the priority list so the 8 of
us had to change offices 4 times during the day when the office we were in
was needed for another reason.

So, 1 day of orientation class down and 4 more to go next week. I also
have a meeting I must attend that will take all of tomorrow.
