first day of school... |
i just took my last lil baby girl off to school today. she started
kindergarten this morning. she looked so grown up and sweet. i can't
believe that all of my babies are growing up so fast. my oldest is a Jr. in
high school and my middle daughter is starting 8th grade. i know in 2 yrs
i'll be where bobbie (crysalis) is...sending my oldest "baby" girl off to
college. and then it will be no time before my lil one gets there herself.
where DOES the time go?

I really don't know where it all went either.
I told Simon I'd cook whatever he wants tonight, and some of his
friends are coming to eat with us and say good bye. It's so weird...on
the one hand it is a very melancholy feeling, and I know I'm going to
cry, but I'm also really excited for him, and for this new chapter in
his life. And I worry about the dumbest stuff.

Its such a sad moment isnt it. I still remember Adam's first day at school
and that was 18 years ago. I now look at this tall, muscle bound, unshaven
man and still wonder "where did my baby go?"

Someone once told me that, for parents, the days are long and the years are
short. It sure feels true.

Well, if she went off merrily and you're the one sniffing back tears, I'd say
you've done a great job so far. The reverse would be really sad. Take care,
sweetie.
