Flash Flood. |
Today there was a flash flood in my town. It's monsoon season around here. It
rained up in the mountains, part of the mountains decided to join the town...
rocks, mud, tumbleweed, cactus... ends up down on the main highway... certain
areas with at least a foot of water... they have graters out now clearing the
roads. should be gone before i head to work tomorrow... didn't rain in town
though.

Today there were men with shovels and large equipment removing the mud and dirt
from the roads. There were some places with piles of dirt over six feet
high... this was a truly amazing flood... mud everywhere

Those are totally weird out there. Last july I took that cutoff road from
Searchlight over to I-15 just for a change. Well, it must have really
rained up in the California Mountains cuz it sure was washing the bullies
away down in the lowlands. It's awesome and weird at the same time.

when i used to drive from long beach to las vegas every week and back again, i
took a road through the desert... every few weeks it would be washed out...
when i went in to work this morning i looked in the bank parking lot, six to
eight plus inches of mud in their lot... town was still covered in rocks but
apparently yesterday there was a three foot pile of rocks in the middle of the
highway... had to be removed
