fluoxitine & sleep |
Can anyone else share their experiences of fluox and sleep? It takes me
about an hour of hitting the snooze button in the mornings to wake up, and
the nightmares I have every night are horrific, they feel so real I wake up
screaming or falling on the floor from thrashing. Last night my boyfriend
woke to me leaning over him abusing him in a very scary way. I should point
out I was sleep-talking here... lol
Would be interested to know if this is common.....???

I've had very vivid & bizarre dreams on fluoxetine, but never
nightmares - just weird and _intense_ dreams. For some reason I kept
dreaming about strange (and disgustingly cute :p) animals: fluffy
rottweiler-sized kittens, cuddly tigers in my living room, being
literally knee-deep in talking white mice...

Most of my nightmares are about critters, but certainly not disgustingly
cute ones!! I dream there are giant rats gnawing through the roof above my
bed, or giant spiders on my head, cockroaches under the covers, stuff like
that. I want cuddly tigers!!!!

How long have you been taking it? Sometimes antidepressants take awhile to
get used to. I've experienced similar effects on other drugs.

A couple of months, but I stopped taking them a week ago, the side effects
were just too much for me to handle. My doctor has prescribed me Celapram
to try instead.

Am glad you stopped taking it. I had some really vivid dreams whenever I
first started taking Remeron, but they eventually went away. Two months is a
good time, usually they take six weeks to get fully into your system. I hope
the Celapram works for you, I hadn't heard of it, is it generic?
