I think it is physiologically possible. It probably isn't psychologically
possible for most people to do what it takes to get there.

Not without going on a fat starvation diet. That's fine for competing body
builders, but long term it just isn't healthy for the average person.
One thing you can do though is to use coconut oil for cooking (both for
frying, or recipes that call for oil or shortening.) Or just melt it in
warm water (it's solid at room temperature) and drink 2-3 tablespoons a
day. If you cut out most all other fats, you can lose weight and not gain
fat since the MCT's (medium chain triglycerides) in coconut oil are quickly
transported to the liver and metabolized for energy. (Vegetable oils, on
the other hand, are much more likely to be stored as fat.)
The more that is used for energy, the less that can be stored as fat.
Coconut oil is so good for energy that it can boost metabolism, and there
is some evidence to suggest is helps to stabilize the thyroid and adrenal
hormones. By extension, it may even help stabilize the
thyroid/adrenal/pituitary axis, which some researchers have linked to mood
disorders.
There is also evidence that it has a paradoxical effect on both weight and
cholesterol levels. It can help an overweight person lose weight, and an
underweight person gain weight, plus it can lower high cholesterol levels,
or raise low cholesterol levels. In other words, it boost the good
cholesterol which helps rid the body of the bad cholesterol.
Your mileage may vary of course. I don't usually give much credence to
alternative medicine, but in the case of coconut oil they seem to have a
good argument. Coconut oil is, after all, a big wallop of saturated fat.
However, the studies done some 40 years ago that demonized saturated fats
in the minds of Americans were done using hydrogenated fats. Evidence
gathered since then have shown that hydrogenated fats are not at all easy
for the body to metabolize, and may be downright toxic.
Unadulterated MCT's seem to be beneficial for the body. They even have
some anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties (against lipid coated
bacteria and viruses, included colds, flu, herpes, HIV, etc.) as well as
supporting healthy intestinal flora (via the destruction of candida yeast.
Even topically - apparently female island natives have used it for
generations to fight yeast infections.) I saw some studies suggesting that
coconut oil has even lowered the viral load in AIDS patients.
Who knows. I've been taking coconut oil lately to see if it will boost my
energy. It's only been a couple of weeks, so I don't know yet. I have yet
to cut the soda from my diet to rid myself of all that useless sugar
though, so I can't say if it has improved my intestinal flora.
But as for weight... just look at the native people who live in areas where
coconuts are a staple of the diet. They tend to be nearly the perfect
weight, have a much lower incidence of elevated cholesterol, almost no
heart disease, and very little cancer. Dr. Albert Schweitzer once
commented that he saw almost no cancer in these areas of the world. That
is until the natives adopted Western diets.
If you do some research on coconut oil, you'll also find some conspiracy
theories. That being that tropical oils were intentionally demonized
because there is no production of them to speak of in America, while the
corn and soy growers had an interest in driving out the competition.
<shrug> I tend to suspect ignorance before conspiracy. The AMA has come
down with a lot of decrees and must-do's about lot's of things, yet people
don't really seem to be getting healthier.
If you want to give it a try, I've been getting it from here:
http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/ Note, I have no financial incentive in
the company. It was just the brand I found to be recommended most.
Drinking it is easy. It doesn't even seem that oily, and the flavor is
just a hint of coconuts.
Aside from that, you are an attractive woman! Don't worry about your
stomach. But that's just me. I go for pretty faces more than lower torso
fitness.
