A tiny fly is circling my trash can. I let it, since it's only doing
its job. Like the small spider, making sure there aren't too many
flies over there. Look! There's a little bird, eating some of those
spiders. The same way the cat's hunting for birds. As long as she
doesn't get caught by the puma, which is chased by a bear. Rhinos,
monkeys, ostriches, hump back whales, buffalo, and many, many more
tiny flies, circling their droppings. My kitchen forms a delicate
ecosystem. No way I'm ever setting foot in there again! :)

which I haven't seen before.

You seem to have a lot of wildlife in your kitchen! I've had mice, but
never whales and buffalo (at least, not at the same time).

Or <http://www.mythic-beasts.com/tools-toys/xface/> for another. There's a
Windows program that can convert suitable graphics into the text code that
you put in an 'X-Face:' custom header in your news-reader, if you want to
use one; I expect a web search would find it for you. Just a little bit of
harmless amusement to enliven an otherwise rather impersonal medium :))

weird that the cats are eating sugar. cats can't taste
sweetness. they must just like the crunch. can you set up a
camera trained on the counters tonight? :-)
it's very difficult to keep cats from eating houseplants. i
finally planted my mimi roses outside because one of my cats
liked the leaves and buds. i finally completely filled a
windowsill with plants so that they can only reach the edge
they can access from the next window (it's a bay window). it
certainly helped.

I've heard tell that moth balls will keep cats away from flora. Cats
supposedly also dislike citrus scents. I don't vouch for either
solution, since my cats have never eaten vegetation (apart from using
lawn grass as a digestive aid).
FYI, orchids can do a cat in right quick. They cause renal failure in
almost no time flat. If you plan on displaying orchids, make sure it's
impossible for your cats to reach them.

I must have the best behaved cats on the planet. I have always
had cats and they have always needed 'adjustment therapy'. These
two cats are perfect in every way. They even greet me every time
I come home. They come up to the car like dogs with their tails
waving and mewing to say hello.
I have the Stepford Cats!
