If it's any consolation, I am 16 and a recluse. I won't always be like
that because I need to get a job, but I haven't left the house for 3
years. I missed out on all my teenage years.
I have a different way of coping with things than most of the people
here, my emotions aren't directed in towards me, like sadness and
depression.
I get more twisted with it all. The time I've spent in the house *has*
made me quite hateful and perverse. It's hard to explain.

well, I kinda noticed some of that outwardly directed "twisted" and
"perverse" stuff, I'm more internalizing for sure. I missed out on my
teenage years in a different way.. ..I lost myself in others instead of
being a recluse.. ..from the time I was 14 til I was 18 my mother was
brain-dead in the hospital after a sudden seizure.. ..and I did everything I
could to numb myself from reality. got into abusive relationships with
women who controlled and used me, did lots of drugs, drank like a fish,
etc.. ..and I did have a lot of friends who were genuinely supportive at
one time or other..
now I have kids and am too busy with working, sleeping and eating to really
get out of my shell..
