The answer is an easy one. I spent 4 months looking for a new job and in
that time I saw hundreds of job ads looking for C# programmers, but I can
count on one hand the ads looking for C++ programmers. I'm learning it so
my resume will look better.

What's C# like? I can't imagine a superset of C++. C++ has always, to
me, seemed like a bag on the side of C.
So far it's almost identical to C++. No major differences but I'm only 1/4
of the way through the book. Mostly the book is boring because it covers
everything, not just the differences.
When I learned C++, I found a book titled "C++ for C programmers". That was
perfect. It only covered the differences. But I wasn't able to find a
similar one for C# so I'm having wading through the 95% I already know.
