Object: Have to work
Damn.
Sometimes this is so fucking hard to do.
I'm grateful, and all, for the people who look to me to do the work, but
damn.
Oh, shut the ***** up and just do it.
We took Kristina's mom out to eat tonight.
Whether she will move in with us after the move has been the elephant in the
room the last couple of months.
Maia took matters into her own hands at dinner.
"New house," she said. "Move," she said. (She often just hits the high
points because she hasn't mastered sentence structure yet. She's got the
paragraphs down, just needs stilts to get from point A to point B.)
"Daddy, Mommy, Maia," she said, working her way around the table, "and
Popo."
This seemed to please Popo, and everyone's appetite got better.
When we dropped Popo off, Maia insisted on going inside, as she always does.
When she finally reemerged, with Popo behind her to extinguish the light
after we had gone, she turned around after coming through the wrought iron
gate and said, "I need a ugh."
(She doesn't say aitches, so "hug" comes out "ugh." She hasn't figured out
the difference between "need" and "want," either, so "want" always comes out
"need.")
She insisted on waiting till Kristina had opened the gate for her, and she
could hug and plant a soggy kiss on Popo.
What a charmer.
Okay. Work. *****.
Three hours, and you're done.
.
