I was thinking the single phase 11KV to ground, only need a single
wire
to the transformer to get 240V, using the ground as the earth return.
Quite a clever invention.

As I can recall we get that load using a delta to Y connection(3 phase)
of the transformer not a single phase. And maybe we need to used clever
invention to detect the losses.
