Just think how boring the day would have been if they were in
school.
Before you crawl into bed, try to think of anything they did or said
that made you smile or laugh. Heck maybe even start a journal. Don't
focus on anything bad, or negative. Just the smile or laugh... even a
grin. You might be surprised at what you come up with. Then
tomorrow, when you smile again, try to make a mental to include this
in your daily re-count, they add up faster than you might realize.
Work on those and you may find easy ways to resolve the negative
issues ie... reducing the younger one to tears.

I know the feeling. But the suggestion is something i find myself
doing. Sort of makes waking up something to look forward to.
I don't like my kids knowing I'm depressed. Yet often feel they would
fine if i was gone.

i used to have those very same feelings. that the family would be so much
better without me. then my husband could get a "new improved" wife and my
kids could have a "new improved" mom. while my husband might have been able
to get a new and improved wife, my kids would NEVER want any mom but me.
and it took me awhile to grasp that.

I went over to a friends house, put up the "slow kids playing" signs.
We watched the kids play in the front while we chatted and giggled and
enjoyed watching the kids doing all of the physical excercise and not
us. We stayed together the whole day so that the kids wore each other
out and we were happy with the results. My boys, (2 of which are ADHD)
all fell asleep within a few minutes of coming home. HAHA, they
thought we were just having fun. Little did they know that we knew
that they were going to wear each other out so that we can get some
rest tonight.
