And even though I'm a proud dad, he still couldn't quite understand why I
wouldn't let him bring his catch inside the house. Now what that rabbit was
thinking going into a dog's pen is beyond me, but oh well.

It's sad that self-described moderates have come to embrace politicians who
continue to decimate the very Constitution and values that we Americans once
took for granted. Do you fit the profile?

Good for Henry!
I've been present at many a rabbit killing having grown up with big retreivers -
rabbits scream when they're cornered, it's quite the chilling sound.

I was quite impressed w/Hen - he made quick work of the critter once he
caught it. One of my sisters who has raised pet rabbits will of course now
call the dog a "canibal" (yeah I know, technically wrong, but I expect that
of rabbit lovers). I can't say I've ever heard a rabbit scream before - with
the a/c units blaring and mild tinitis from way too many rock concerts in my
younger days I usually feel pretty lucky to hear the dogs barking while
they're outdoors - so I'll just take your word for it. I learned while we
still had hamsters as pets that they could make quite a racket if they felt
threatened.

Had a huge red Mutt years ago, his name was Everglades, 'cause that's
where we found him. He used to bring me huge dead rats on occasion,
prancing proudly after me. He wouldn't stop until I let him place them
at my feet. Eeewww.
I miss that big dumb dog.

And thanks for the wonderful pet pictures; I *love* them. Luce is just

Your work with animals is wonderful.

preditors really have a hard time with refusal of bringing home the kill
understandably though , it's their way of showing value to the pack ,
you could call it an effort in home security

Yeah, he's just doing his job. I did let him go as far is inside the garage
with his catch. Melia would have murdered me had he run inside w/a rabbit
carcass (although the look on her face would have been very amusing). I
won't complain at all if he and/or Snowball catch and kill a few mice as the
fall season approaches. Now *that* would be home security. :-)

I think Simon has sort of figured it out already , '
if he intends to eat it , it doesn't get in the house ,
but if his plan is to show his value ... it might get in ,
last week i caught hell for letting voles run lose in the basement ,
he owes me a few i took the blames ,
but his secret keeping is unmatched so i guess we fare out
.
