Light which leaves the source travels until it reaches something. If the
thing it reaches is reflective, most of the light bounces off and keeps
going. If the thing it reaches is translucent, some of the light goes
through and keeps on going. If the thing it reaches is opaque, all of
the light is absorbed. In any case where some or all of the light is
absorbed, the energy is converted to heat.
