Download Registry Mechanic by PC Tools, and run that. It finds duplicate
entries and fixes them. BUT if you do download it, don't click the
option to Compact Registry! It's fucked up my system before. The
shareware version should do what you're asking about. If it doesn't, I
can get you the full version.

I just downloaded that today, funnily enough. No, the shareware
version will NOT fix anything, you have to register it to get it to
actually do anything more than just scare you to death with its "THIS
IS A BAD THING!" messages.

I got it from a friend at IBM, they have a corporate license. But
according to the website it's used by "Boeing, California State
Government, University of Memphis, WWF UK, and Disneyland Resort, etc."
I used it to thin out a lot of bunk mp3 files. I've accumulated my
collection by copying other people's collections when I used to go to
LAN parties with the co-workers at my last job.

You have to be judicious about which files you're pitching, you can't
just whack the whole lot of them. It's the same way with any duplicate
file finding program.
