I am schizophrenic and I hear voices. They are like anyone else and
sometimes are positive and sometimes are negative. I hear people calling
my name and converse with me frequently. I'm fine with this, but other's
aren't. I occasionally get them mad and they abuse me verbally. I've
spoken with "God" even though now I realise it isn't God at all. Just my
mind. SOmetimes they get me up for work, and help me deal with things.
Other times they scream at me or cause me greif and pain. I deal with
it. That's life. I know it's not real.... or at least I tell myself
that, they obviusly don't like me telling them they're not real, but
they're here to stay. All I can do is seek treatment to suppress them,
or to calm me down.

dollars, would *not* be a good voice. I don't know a lot about voices..
..but used to reach near psychotic states from paranoia from drug-use...
...and have "heard" people saying horrible things about me. It sets off
alarm bells, causes anxiety, and paranoia.
Hearing "good" things about yourself is merely comforting, easily absorbed
and dismissed. It doesn't confuse or escalate beyond.
Selection effect.
But I'm mostly speculating.

It is a really interesting thought though. I wonder why it never happens
the way you describe. For all intents and purposes it should. At least
some of the time. Balance even by accident. Yet in this there is none.
