I took your advice and started watching. Woman, when you are right, you are
right. This is fantastic stuff! I am hooked. So demented! I'm still into
the first season, but I'm staying current by downloading each episode as it
comes out and reading the TwoP recaps so I can keep up with the discussion
here. The show's good enough that knowing stuff in advance isn't ruining it
for me at all.
I owe you for this recommendation.

Holy *****. Lila is truly dexter's dark passenger.
Indeed. And to a certain extent his creation, once she learns the truth
about The Bay Harbor Butcher from the still-caged Doakes (who turns out
to be an OK guy in the end) and decides that Dexter is her "soulmate".
"Holy *****" was my reaction exactly when I watched the ep. Whoo. God I
love this show. I wasn't sure the concept would sustain more than one
season, but they found such a clever way to vary the story arc (from
hunt for Ice Truck Killer to hunt for BHB) that it worked brilliantly.

I missed the entire first season and then caught up with the buzz so I came
late to the table, but GOD I love the internets! I caught up with all of
Season 1 over a week after I found a place to watch it online. My head is
now bursting with it. WWDD? I've been enjoying watching Lila's bunny
boiling (sorry, bunny!) tendencies bubble up to the surface. She's almost
scarier than Dexter. All of the characters are great , including the
victims.
The last episode I saw was the one where he's got Doakes in the cage and
calls Dexter a killer and he retorts with something like: "oh, so it's okay
to kill so long as you get a paycheck for it?". I think all of the places
that had posted 11 and 12 have since pulled them. I'm too stupid to figure
out bittorrent (and I don't have Showtime) so it's online tv for me.
I can hardly wait and I don't care that I know what happens. It almost
makes it better to know and see how the hell they pull it off I assume
Lila gets it?

I've been watching from the beginning, since I knew Michael C. Hall
would be in it and I loved "Six Feet Under". Very different character,
of course, though there *was* one very Dexter-like scene in SFU where
David warns the sleazy rep from the big funeral home chain that "there
are things worse than death".
I can hardly wait and I don't care that I know what happens. It almost
makes it better to know and see how the hell they pull it off I assume

Well, she killed Doakes and Dexter found out about it. So I'll leave
leave you to consult The Code of Harry: Did he deserve it, or not? If he
did, she doesn't, and vice versa.

Haven't started watching it yet ... but I gotta say Michael C. Hall is a
brilliant actor, and THAT alone is enough to sell me on anything he does.
There are certain actors who do that to me. Johnny Depp is one. Winona Ryder is
another. Laugh if you must.

Aside from stage his filmography credits...John Woo's "Paycheck" with Ben
Affleck in 2003, Tim Daly's "Bereft" in 2004, and the Mark Neveldine -
Brian Taylor co-directed "Game" which is due for release in 2008. The only

His background is theater (and musicals) and he continued during/after
SFU. I've only seen vid clips of parts of performances but his range is
impressive. To me, anyways.

Ah, good point, never thought of that. Of course, it didn't hurt
anybody except viewers who watch shows the normal way and had their
experience spoiled by reading premature recaps from Internet
downloaders. Well, I suppose it did hurt me a bit by keeping me up way
too late Sunday night, but I could hardly not grab and watch it knowing
it was available. Though now I'm a little sad knowing I don't have it
to look forward to next week. =8^(

On the verge. The subject matter -- how to respond to the abyss as it
stares back into you -- is a pretty sensitive area for me and I'm very
susceptible to art and media. I watched 15 minutes of "Oz" and had
disturbing dreams for 2 months. The micro of my dad's experience as a
prison guard against the macro of how the "good" people interact with
the "bad" people is kinda at the center of my being. Overstimulating
thoughts aren't pleasant or productive, so I proceed carefully when a
"Dexter" emerges. But the show's been vetted for me by a good friend and
I will be catching up. Should any Dexter-discussion continue. I enjoyed
the SFU newsgroup back in the day. I still think about the series,
often, so it ain't really history, just the newsgroup.

"Dexter" is definitely not "Oz", which is that "gritty realism" sort of
thang. "Dexter" puts an ethical and personal spin on the whole homicide
thing that makes it unlike anything else you've ever seen; Dexter isn't
"the serial killer you love to hate" or anything like that, he's just
"the serial killer you love". He starts out as a classic sociopath but
becomes significantly humanized over the course of the two seasons, so
it would be hard to guess how you might react even if I knew more about
the kind of thing that happened to you with "Oz". I'd guess it would be
OK, but hey -- if you decide it's better to pass, it won't kill ya. =8^)
