I drugged myself out with three shots of vodka, two thorazines, and a
clonidine. My wife told me now she doesn't want to get divorced yet. I
said it's too late. I already know how she feels.

It's freeing because you have the control now, it's not taken away from you.
She tried to neuter you in a way, but you took the scissors away!

I'm trying to explain to her that mama isn't going to be around anymore
because she keeps saying "Don't worry. We'll find mama." and it just
breaks my heart. I asked my wife to explain it to her when she was here,
but she said she doesn't need to know.

Her other kid never came first. He doesn't even think she's his mom.

Oh boy. How can she process this if she doesn't know? Yes, she's
little, but she does think and feel. She knows Mama's not there
and needs to understand it on a toddler level. That Mama can't
live there anymore, but that she's still loved by both parents.
If your wife would just say that much it would help. She doesn't
need details. Just to know that she's still loved.

well, it *is* real, but i'd certainly not say there is NO hope for a happy
ending! maybe not the ending you had envisioned, but that does NOT mean
there won't be many happy days to come. you and your little girl can have
an awesome life, slunk. just pour yourself into being safe, well, and into
being a fantastic father. that's all that matters at this point.

That's not true. Daddy can find someone who really loves him for
who he is and is smitten by his daughter, and who places
responsibility and family over nights on the town.
Unfortunately, that reality isn't now. But it's still the middle
of the film, plenty of time for a good ending.
