Hey Nick, I hope you feel better soon.
I almost always feel more depressed when I get sick, and even though I
know the crash is coming and what has caused it, it still hits me pretty
hard sometimes.
Hang in there. Hopefully once you feel better physically your mood will
lift too.

For me, with the flu, depression is the main symptom. Getting over
being sick is quicker than getting over depression.

Same here. And I feel so sad tonight. Dealing with the flu here in the
house I grew up in. My dad's gone for the evening. My cat's outside. My
mother is dead. My marriage ended over ten years ago. Nothing to look
forward to except more things to lose and miss for the rest of my life.
Depression is the one thing I don't have to feel nostalgic about.
Home is so sad. It stays as it was left,
Shaped to the comfort of the last to go
As if to win them back. Instead, bereft
Of anyone to please, it withers so,
Having no heart to put aside the theft
And turn again to what it started as,
A joyous shot at how things ought to be,
Long fallen wide. You can see how it was:
Look at the pictures and the cutlery.
The music in the piano stool. That vase.

I've pretty much dumped my home. Yes I
remember it. My mother died a number of years
ago. Memory of all that stuff is not how it
was.

There is always something to look forward to. There is no end to our
spiritual practise and the progress we can make. Learning to love
others better makes our lives meaningful and happy. Meeting new
people can be exciting, and it's painful losing them only if we become
attached to them; of course we are human and cannot help becoming
attached, but, in the end, isn't it worth it, for having known and
loved them? I think so.

I prefer having the flu, cause I don't get depressed with it, and, I
get more sympathy.
Sorry Nick, hope you feel better soon.
