Object: i don't wanna do this today...
hubby is mad at me because he can't spend $200 on a pair of speakers he
found at a garage sale. i told him that i had to email the mortgage company
and ask for an extension on this month's housenote, and he wonders why he
can't buy a $200 pair of speakers.
the dentist wanted $430 from me yesterday (my part of what insurance didn't
pay). i thought i'd get a bill down the road and figure out how to pay it
later, but they wanted it right on the spot. i had to put it on my already
tremendously overloaded credit card. i don't know how we'll ever pay that
thing off. :/ i've had to use it all month to buy groceries.
hubby's job is about to end right after thanksgiving and i don't know how we
are going to make it after that. hubby doesn't worry about it unless it
means he can't buy something. then he cares. but he gets over it really
quickly. and then he either buys what he wants anyway, or just moves on to
the next thing.
i don't wanna do this today.

I used to like making money. Always looked forward
to raise time, Christmas bonus, working hard trying
to get ahead.
Since I got fired back in 2003 I've come to hate money.
I sure don't like any being spent on me. I don't like
buying shoes on sale, even when I really need them.
I need to buy tires for my truck but I feel guilty
needing to do that.
Probably time for new glasses but since I'm finishing
up school and only working part time I believe my
money should be for my family not me.
And the family is asking me what I want for Christmas.

Probably time for new glasses but since I'm finishing
up school and only working part time I believe my
money should be for my family not me.

And the family is asking me what I want for Christmas.

myron hunny, i know JUST how you feel!!!
i'm so sorry.

Have you considered hitting hubby with a brick? Every time he wants

$200 at a garage sale?? That's idiot ebay bid frenzy money. Garage sales
prices start at ten cents and haggle down to seven.

I had misread that as sneakers...so I was even more shocked...but even
sPeakers at a garage sale for that price is ridiculous. Garage sale
people are the kind looking for chipped dishes cheap not high end audio
gear/fancy shoes.

That's weird. Until you said you misread it, I thought it was sneakers
too, but it's clearly speakers. Must be one of those optical
illusions. I've still got my big Sony speakers I bought in 1982. I've
been through countless sneakers in the same time.

Speakers must be one of the few things made these days that aren't made
to fall apart or wear out. I replaced a pair of Missions from the mid
Eighties. They're still much better than anything else in the house, and
will find another home. Their only problem was not being floor-standing
reference speakers.

I bought a pair of reference speakers for £40 on eBay. Mind you, I had
to drive to London to pick them up. Since we had to go anyway, and it
was only a mile out of the way, carriage was free. Not bad for an idiot
