I have a good reason too, but it would be nice just to have some scripts
and not *need* a reason to visit a "pain mgmt" specialist to cop.

Propoxyphene (Darvon, w/o acetominophen; those are Darvon N,
Darvocet...) is a methadone derivative, shown to be less effective than
many other compounds. Not really recreational but a good choice if
you're looking for self injury with pills, too many people have stopped
breathing while popping more and more trying to catch a buzz.
Meperidine (Demerol) isn't all that sweet either. It's got a rap for
inferior pain relief. But worse still is that pain relief duration is
short, it's an irritant at the injection site, and has a toxic
metabolite that accumulates within the body even at standard doses. This
is called normeperidine and is notorious for inducing seizures. Demerol
for more than 6 days is a very bad idea. It's a Model T car on today's
drug car dealership.
Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) is going to be hard to find unless you know
some really hurting people, a la cancer. It's also pretty hard to kick,
but it's up there on the 1-10 scale of fun. Longer pain relief, but
you're a lot more likely to wind up on fentanyl for chronic pain.
I had my fun with this crowd though. If I geographically pack myself up
to run from my problems, but how about letting me package up all
physical pain ***** and mailing it off. I know mental pain for so long
I'm good at that.

the viles, count the viles, take one, count them again, have the second
person count them, put them back in and close the machine. I never did

That's still how it's done where my gal works, except that the lead
nurse on the shift has to "concur with the XO", the empty vial also has
to be returned into the dispensary on CII drugs.

Not everybody does well with codeine, it makes me itch insanely and get
nauseous. It also has to run through metabolization before it's actually
a pain reliever. So there's a ceiling you hit where higher and higher
doseages won't have any effect.
A lot of people will take it with benadryl to help with the itching but
I'm just one of the people who are allergic to it.

Not everybody does well with codeine, it makes me itch insanely and get
nauseous.
I gave my friend some T3s in highschool and he was complaining they
didn't do anything all during that class (we used World History to
experiment with different prescriptions) but then when I saw him at
lunch he looked like death and was pretty out of it. It was funny.

Because of the rules of the facility I go to, I'm not allowed to take
prescribed pain killers. Not even for medically prescribed purposes.
I've got some oxycodone that I'd like to take when I hurt, but because
of my random UA's I can't take anything.

I've been in the world of random UAs but I could be high as a kite - as
long as I show them a prescription for the methamphetamines, morphine,
benzos, cocaine (it is still a C2 drug...) whatever I'm allowed to take
it. If I had a chloral hydrate script then they would have to dismiss
alcohol readings too. The only thing that would be a hassle would be THC
on account of the state legal, federal illegal crap.
I can't imagine that if you have a legitimate medical prescription that
there is any legal way they can deprive you of medication. They may want
to be huge assholes and insist on dispensing the medication in some
controlled manner. Such a policy strikes me as illegal.

in contempt. Because I have to interect with other clients who have
problems with these substances the fact that I'm legitimately using it
could trigger them..... or so they say.

Seems specious. I don't know exactly what the program is but if they
held you in contempt of court orders and you went in front of a judge
with a legitimate medical evidence it's virtually a no-brainer that it
is clearly within the medical community's bill of rights for patients.
In many areas of the country, mine being one, every patient has the
right that within its capacity the medical facility must make a
reasonable response for medical care. You then have the right to accept
or decline any treatment.
I'd suggest just talking to a lawyer about this. They're insanely
expensive to hire and fight a battle in court. But my credit union even
offers a service where you can call in and speak to a lawyer just to get
legal advice. I get something like 6 calls per year. There are also
cheap pre-paid legal services (~$30/month - buy 1 month...) where
they'll dash off a letter for you or help with traffic tickets - but
anything else is "hire me".
This just kind of pisses me off as an issue, because what if they just
decide "PILL BAN FOR ALL" and then it's not for a bad back but instead
they yank some poor guys heart medication because it's causing false
positves.
I smell ...illegal... when a treatment center steps in between you, your
doctor and a pharmacy.

they don't do that ,
they only disallow psycho active drugs ,
if your doctor says you can do without it
