I got a Mazda for Christmas |
I am going to do modelism. My daughter gave me the model of the Mazda
WRC'03 Impreza, then I will buy more and more until I run out of space
where to keep them.

Have you thought of getting the polystyrene kits and making your own. It
passes the time as well as giving you ownership of the model.
Is "ownership" still a management buzz-word? It's been years since I
played with the bastards.

I do not know those kits. Maybe I became a teenager much earlier than
you, huh? At any rate, please describe what you can do with them. Maybe I
will get interested.

They come as a kit of parts, for you to paint and glue together to make
the model. And I'm a few months older than you, I think. :)

Well, that is precisely what I got. I didn't know the material was what
you said, but I am assembling and painting the parts at the moment. Sorry

They make them in plastic, by various methods, 'white metal', and resin.
Plastic injection is cheapest, and has the largest selection.

I lived a hell as a kid. But maybe being a child is so great that I
didn't realize there was a different world around me but a resented
mother always shouting at me and abusing me that I have still pleasant
memories from my childhood.

Interesting notion. Build them, then destroy them. You do not like to go
against entropy, huh?

Not in my opinion. I've got a theory, only as it applies to my own life.
There may come a time, Ivan, when you may be throwing a lot of the *****
overboard instead of feeling like you should have it together. Things
that seemed so urgent and important and almost mandatory may become of
no importance at all. Those who haven't gotten their ***** together when
nearly 40 may have an advantage insofar as not having constructed a
"complete" lifestyle with all the accouterments that might leave a kinda
unfulfilled inner space and a bemusement about completing a
culturally-sanctioned checklist that means nothing when achieved and
contemplated. With less to deconstruct, more opportunities to truly be
yourself may abound. As opposed to having your ***** together.
It doesn't make sense as I re-read the above but, heck, I'm not trying
to appear like I have my ***** together. Cuz I don't, hallelujah, and I'm
well past 40. Double hallelujahs for that, another age I wouldn't want
to revisit. I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

What film is that, Ivan? I don't recognize it. But it did remind me of
this excerpt from a Talking heads song:
And you may ask yourself
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!
Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.
And, if yer gonna clean house, don't forget -- and I'm sure you never
will: Ammonia and bleach shouldn't come in contact. Evah!
