I got a little enclosure for a hard drive yesterday, and it gets it's
power by plugging it into the PS/2 mouse jack. I thought that was
interesting.

If I didn't have a phone jack in my bedroom already, I'd get one of
those. They'd say bad things to the next place I live if I drill holes
in their cinderblock walls.

No, I run 802.11i encryption, RADIUS server authentication, and MAC
address filtering. If anyone can break through that, they deserve to use

Depends on how far away you are from the remote terminal or central
office. All I know is my cable company screws with my speed when I
download big files. I'm getting DSL when I move.

Someday you will. The phonelines are in place, and you've said you get
cable, so that's all there. Your providers just need the equiptment and
a line to the backbone. In the US, the FCC is going to auction off the
analog TV band to wide-range wireless ISPs. Then no one is tied to a
line. You can use your computer anywhere in the service area.
