and then lost all that stuff , then got new stuff ,

I used to get "stuff" cause I thought it made me happy. But most of the
stuff I really didnt need. At one time I had a collection of 32 guitars.
Did I need that many? Of course not, but I thought that made me happy,,
looking back now, it was just a bunch of guitars. There was only 3 or 4
that I actually liked alot, the rest were just stuff. Wish I had my
favorite guitar now tho,, only paid $150 for it but, it was the best I
ever had. Tele copy, disgusting yellow color but the thing played and
sounded so good. Trying to get that guitar back along with a few other
things. I hope I do,, I really miss that guitar!
Like to get my sitar back too :(

well that's one thing i've always managed to keep or replace ,
i've never had to go more than maybe a month without one ,
but its such an extention of myself ,
that i don't really see it as stuff

Yea,, I used to play all the time. I loved playing in bands and
recording. Got really heavey into finger style acoustic. Havent touched
anything in about 6 months tho,,, Been playing for 25 years maybe, then
just stopped. I'll pick it up again someday.
In my despair of this last bout of depression I just sold about every
instrument I had left :(
I was convinced I wasnt gonna pull thru this so I just sold everything
and drank it all away :(
Though I sold off my big collecton years ago, I did hold on to a few of
my favorites but, I sold them too in the last few months.
I'd like to get another nice acoustic someday when I get back on my
feet. I had a Larrivee L-09 and that was the best acoustic I every
played. Sadly thats gone too. I had a nice Taylor 410ce and a Gibsom
WM45 too. Makes me sick to think now of some of those guitars and how I
sold them due to stupidity!!!
Only thing I got left now is a crappy Washburn 4 string bass, two junk
sitars (and I had 2 really nice ones DAMN IT!!) a Mountain Dulcimer wich
is pretty nice and a old Yamaha acoustic that I converted into a lap
style guitar ala John Fahey.
I'll get things again but I'm kicking myself now cause I had a few
really really realy nice instruments. Now I'm getting depressed again
LOL

,
i even have nightmares that i lose fingers or an arm and still manage ,

I just stopped finding enjoyment in playing, never thought that would
happen but, it did.
I found nothing more satisfying than spending hours or sometimes days
writing a new song, all the lyrics,guitar, bass and drum parts,
everything because it was mine. Some sucked, some where OK but some
where real gems. Used to send some of the stuff I wrote to some record
companies but, always got the same response, "Not commercially viable"
LOL. So, I just stared to send some to local college stations and got
some decent rotation there. Only ever heard one of my songs on a college
radio station once but occasionally someone will tell me that they heard
one of my songs so, they still play them on occassion I never seem to
catch 'em tho. The time I did hear one of my songs played on the radio,
I was putting down tile in Atlantic City, NJ and when it came on I was
like "Oh ***** they're playing it"
I was on the radio that I heard one other time actually. I was playing
bass in a friends punk band and they all went to a college radio station
to play a few songs to promote a show we were gonna do that weekend. I
had to work but I was listening to them on the radio. They all
introduced themselves and played a few songs off a CD we recorded in my
basement studio. The DJ asked who and where the bass player was and they
said " Oh,, thats just some guy Jeff, he's working today" I just
laughed and thought to myself "You assholes"
