Object: I have an interview early next week for a dream job
I would be making more money than I ever have. I just meet the
qualifications and REALLY want this job.
The thing is, in my last interview, a question came up: What are your
weaknesses?
I should have said was ice cream in the refrigerator, but hindsight is
20/20.
Do any of you guys know some tricky questions in interviews? I would
really like to prep well for this one.

Another one is "Why did you leave your
last job?" or want to leave your current
job. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

That 5 year question is a tricky one. Interviews are torture.

Why did you leave your last job is tricky.... especially if you did so
due to your illness or an episode..... you need a good solid response
to that. I always find the stock standard ' why do you want this
particular job' tricky as well. It's a fine line between selling
yourself and sounding cheesy. I'm in Australia. Our culture is a tad
different to yours. We don't respond well to over the top confidence
tricksters. You have to appear confident yet humble over here as
cheesiness turns people off.

I did a mock interview for my brother-in-law (apparently much harder
than the real one) and caught him on the Equal Opportunities policy. If
they want, they'll get you on something - there's no point in expecting
perfection in an interview.

The opinions given above may be mine. They might also
just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?

Isn't that the truth! I doubt anyone going into an interview won't
come out sparkly and clean.

I've never been good at interviews, but I had an idea. What if you said you
had been accused of being a work-a-holic, but you have since tried to plan
for a little time for each important thing in your life per day.

That wouldn't be too far off from the truth. I'm not sure what
companies think about work-a-holics though. From the jobs I've been
applying to they seem to stress "team player" alot. Perhaps I'll wear
a football jersey to my interview.

Unless you're applying for a job playing
football, I'd skip the jersey, heh, but
if you've played team sports in school
or elsewhere, find a way to work that in
the conversation. Learning to be a team
player counts and it isn't taught too
many places.
Other than that, be prepared to describe
specific examples of teamwork on
collaborative professional projects.
You're right, it's something employers
do look for. And, hey, good luck, Eric.

I always used the golden rule "Be good and tell them your good"
It is better to have convidence in the interview about yourself
and you will see that way you will get that job.
I know cause I have had 22 jobs in 15 years and most of
my interviews were successful. So once again
"Tell them your good" Good luck.
