Object: I Neglected To Mention The Ultrasound
My wife had an intensive ultrasound on Wednesday. Where are we again... 18
weeks, I think. My new baby has labia. I'm hoping it turns out to be a girl
since that would be pretty embarrassing in the locker room for a boy.
Uncomfortable question of the day: I've always heard that adult women can
get infections if they wipe in the wrong direction. So how do you go about
cleaning a baby girl? I've seen the horrors that can take place underneath
a diaper and just how much the mess can travel - up, down, all around and,
God help me, even out. How do you make sure a baby girl doesn't get a
vaginal infection?
On a more positive note, girl's can't engage in targeted peeing while you
are changing them. That will mean less suspense during diaper changes.
Although the time that Buddha let loose and peed on his own face was
hilarious. Hah! Backfired! Don't tell him I said that... it startled him so
much he cried. I had to walk a tightrope, laughing while trying to comfort
him.
BTW, she'll be Amanda Rose. I'm torn emotionally. I did want a little girl.
But I also wanted to see people do a double-take when I named a boy Mycroft
Manuel.

Oh, that's a beautiful name. As for the diaper changing, always front to
back, making sure you get all the um...hidden creases. If you don't already
use "unscented" wipes on your little man, you might want to consider that a
better choice for a girl. Even the mild perfumes can be a little harsh on
girlie bits. Wow...a girl...way cool Droog! What an exciting time in your
life. It *almost* makes me want to do it all over again. :-)

You clean a little girl, just like a woman wipes, front to back, and like
you said it gets very messy so you are wiping more so then a boy. You've
got to clean all the folds and make sure you use lots of baby powder because
things tend to stay moist.
Also girls are so much more temperamental then boys. I've always thought
little girls were so much harder to raise then boys.
You'll get your one of each Droog!!! I'm glad you had a boy first, having a
big brother is way cool, at least my sister always wished for an older
brother. There are three of us. Girl, Boy then me :o)

:)) i'd say it's a pretty safe bet that it's a girl.

like gayle said, wipe front to back always, and no bubble baths. and if she
does get a yeast infection, as girls are prone to do, you have to let her
air dry alot. or even using a hairdryer on low. :)

On a more positive note, girl's can't engage in targeted peeing while you
are changing them. That will mean less suspense during diaper changes.
Although the time that Buddha let loose and peed on his own face was

just be sure they don't get you with targeted poop! especially if she is
breast fed. solid yellow liquid stream, baby. :D

BTW, she'll be Amanda Rose. I'm torn emotionally. I did want a little
girl.

you'll be hooked at first sight, droog. crazy hooked. insanely hooked.
like you never dreamed possible. :))
congrats!

Congratulations on your daughter! Amanda Rose is a beautiful
name. I can't answer your diaper question, having had 2 boys.
I recently wondered the same thing.

Wipe in one direction only, front to
back -- probably the opposite of what
yer used to doing with a boy. Don't use
bubble bath, even those made for babies
because the chemicals can get, um, in.
Use any lotions more sparingly for the
same reason.

BTW, she'll be Amanda Rose.

Lovely. Good luck, CyberDroog.

That's fantastic news Droog! Amanda Rose is a beautiful name.
I'm not a mother (although I want kids sometime) so I'll be reading all
updates with interest.
One of my friends has a 3 year old boy, and in his younger days I did
see the targeted peeing first hand - very, very funny when it's not
going all over me!
