Yes lots of rain & snow, but also many thunderstorms-lightening set off a
few fires, but not close to me. This will be my first summer here, and I
know we have to be vigilent about watering

a friend of mine lives up near Grass Valley. They have a huge water
allowance. Their landlord got on their case for not using it all.

We'll get around to getting our warnings here, have had some pretty close
blazes over the last several years though. We're at something like 98%
snowpack so it doesn't seem like it's going too bad moisture wise. At least
for now.

Dry air and dry ground are real bad, but when things on the ground are
decently wet there's not too much concern.
Of course that means that the vegetation will be thicker for later on in the
summer when things all dry up and the fires start to really pick up.
