Well, everyone who has or had depression dies in the end. The
everlasting life pills don't work for us, thankfully.

So far, all my experience of Depression has been associated with Life.
There is no evidence I trust, about whether or not one can be Depressed
after Life. I don't plan to find out any time soon, because that is the
mother of all one-way streets.

I honestly don't know, and I've struggled with depression for
most of my adult life.
Thirty years ago, I endured a period when I was so full of pain
that I wanted to die, just to make the pain stop.
Half a year ago, I came very close to dying, but I didn't die.
And the six months since then have been the happiest, emotionally
healthiest of my life, despite the fact that I'm just as
clinically depressed now as I ever was.
Damned if I know how death and depression affect each other. I
can only say how they affected me.

depending on your mental condition, death
usually means non-existence, which cannot
support a concept of depression, let alone
a concept of anything, including your self...
unacceptable. I ain't down for it. but I will
drag my ***** outta the fucking pit, goddamit

To the extent that one might be suicidal I suppose.
Beyond that, it can be a lot of things - physical symptoms (sleep
disturbances, lethargy), emotional (irritability, sadness), cognitive (lack
of concentration, focus on the negative), motivational (delaying important
tasks).
Any more I just look at depression as a way of life.
