I want to do some computer shopping |
I am so bored that I keep thinking I want to go and do some computer
shopping.. I've been wondering what to buy, but nothing comes to mind. This
computer has got only 256 Meg of RAM. The only thing that occurs to me is to
increase it to 512 Meg. Any suggestions?

I think its hard to have too much RAM. I suppose it depends what you
do with your computer, but I noticed when I went from 256 to 512. Most
other geeks I chat with have a gig or so.
Also, back when I was employed and (relatively) rich, I would blow
money at www.thinkgeek.com. Happy shopping!

yeap, all my machines but my linux box have a gig. but DVR (Plextor, of
course) whooo hooo <drools>.

good choice depending on your OS, id opt for a plextor dvr though!

I've got 512MB in this machine, and haven't noticed any improvment over when it only had 256MB, but YMMV.
How about a DVD recorder? Or a fast SCSI disk?
