I'd just like |
To make my body take more sleep. I'm afraid I have been sleeping almost full
time and my body asks for more but cannot take it. Tired, tired.

If it was up to my body, I'd be in hibernating. The trouble is, my brain
wakes up and drags the rest of me with it.

I actually struggle to wake up. First I sit on the bed and if it goes well,
I start being conscious little by little. But very often, it doesn't work
and I remain sleeping in that position so my neck hurts, until I cannot
anymore and lay down and keep sleeping.

I always wonder what it means when our bodies to this. Have you had a
full bloodworkup recently?

It means depression, nothing else (in my case). I had a blood test not long
ago. Every blood test I have comes out with normal everything. So, that's
why it is only depression.

I, on the contrary, think it is all due to depression. Advancements in the
treatment of depression can help us in that area, I think.

Chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome. Also called myalgic encephalomyelitis.

Gosh! Sounds terrible! Sorry, do not want to sound fatalistic, but the
encephalo.... thing pertains to the brain and sounds a delicate thing. I
hope you are under control and well treated. I suppose it has no cure, has
it? If it can be cured, hope.

Well, CFIDS is an umbrella term for a number of different illnesses of
unknown origin, all of which feature chronic fatigue and malaise as the
primary symptoms. I seem to have a benign form of it, which is, in the
whole grand scheme, not so bad. I'm ambulatory and I can think somewhat
clearly. The type of CFIDS I have usually gets under control within one
to two years.
There are more insidious forms, which at the extreme fully incapacitate
a person; people can't even brush their teeth or dress themselves
because they're so utterly exhausted. And those forms can debilitate a
person for life: if the illness isn't brought under control within five
years, common medical wisdom claims it never will be. You'll have it for
the rest of your life.
As I said, causes are unknown, but the points of attack seem to vary.
Some types go after the immune system, while others are apparently
neurological in origin. The latter is the type I have, according to my
immunologist. He tells me, and my own research backs this up, that this
version of CFIDS is believed to be brought on by untreated PTSD, as is
fibromyalgia. Quite curious, that.
