If you could spend one more day with someone you loved that haspasted...... |
Who would you spend the day with? What would you do? Why? That was the
questions of the day on Oprah today.
We think we would choose our Moms Mom. Our dear Mamaw. She was the
best. So loving, kind.
Best story teller and cook. We lived with her and my Papaw the first
time our Dad had to go to WAR- Vietnam.
They lived on a small farm in southern Indiana. Had chickens, a cow
named Baby, a great boarder collie named Tippy. Some of the saddest
and best memories we have. Hope you all will share who you would like
to spent one more day with. Stay warm, later dorrie9

my Grandfather. but one day wouldn't be nearly enough. the summer I
saw him last, the last time I would ever see him, seems like so long
ago, and it was. I'd spend half the time with him in the house i grew
up at, where he came last, and the other half I'd spend with him in
England where he lived. We'd do all kinds of Grandfather-Grandson
things. he could talk to me about things i couldn't talk about to my
parents or things that don't make sense to talk about with parents,
that only make sense to talk about with GRANT parents..... sigh. I
miss my Grandpa so much.

I would not want them to come back for one day. On earth we have
awkwards moments. When I am alone, I can remember good moments, and
maybe they are allowed to share them with me. I talk to my father
when I need to. I talk now to my friend who just died, when I get the
feeling...He never saw my solarium....now he can see it whenever I
think of him...I was loading firewood into it the other day, I said,
"Greggg......check this place out...." He was like" Bri....nice
freakin room!!!!"
In real life, he would have stole from me again. So I remember him
from the time he didn't do that kinda stuff.

I would spend it with my daughter, just holding her in my arms and
watching the grass grow while the sunshines and never let go.

My grandfather who was from the Philippine Islands. I would want him
to tell me everything he knows and remembers about his people and my
extended family. If we could spend it anywhere I'd like to spend it
in the Village where he lived.

That's a good question....I'd probably spend it with my brother. As
for what we would do, perhaps go spend time at the beach in San
Francisco, walk around, splash our feet in the water, eat at one of
the restaurants, and just talk. This is all what I'd *like* to do if
he was here, but I don't know if that would actually happen. I miss
him....

I would spend it with Richie Edwards even though I've never met him. I
don't know what we'd do because I don't know what we'd like to do then,
or if he would even like me.

You can't judge that. I went "I love you" and walked out.
Died later that night, I was not going to sit in the hospital
and watch it.
Feelings of anger (why did this happen?) is what I remember.
Leukemia is something not cureable I guess.

In this case it was cured the first time, however came
back again 13 years later and was no longer treatable.
I didn't stay at the hospital ... said my goodbyes, went
home and got the sad news the next morning. While I wanted
to stay another day, not under those last hour conditions,
I really knew what was about to happen, and didn't want to
see it.
I quite frankly would not be brave enough to go through
the chemo treatment. For the second time around I was
expecting the treatment technology to be better than it
was previously - it wasn't.
