I've written 1122 lines of (working) code in the last 26 hours.
I'm going to go die now.

Public survey software. Nothing fun in other words.

Ivan you didn't die,, great,
I don't get to die until the project is finished.
You know... why is it that useless kiss-asses constantly get raises and
promotions and the people that actually do the work are eternally screwed
and unappreciated by everyone that could make their lives better?
I was given this project on Friday (the people that need it done have
known about it for six weeks) and I was told it had to go live for
training at 11am om Tuesday and live to the world at 6:30pm. I've had a
dozen people up my ***** every fifteen minutes since Friday reminding me how
important it is, how much money it means to the company and how we're
totally screwed and we'll lose the client if it doesn't go live on time.
It went live to the world (working but not finished as far as I'm
concerned) at 6:15pm...
Less than 20 minutes later the decision was made to abandon it for the
rest of the day because a single field on the form required the agents to
type in information rather than select it from a drop-down box.
Of all the complaints they could have had about all the things I know
still aren't working with it, it was abandoned because of an irrelevancy.
Gotta' love being in the 15% of people that keeps society from
disintegrating.

sounds kind of like where I work. Where the people upstairs have
endless meetings, where they make decisions about stuff they know
nothing about, technically I mean. what a world, jill
