In Memory of Jeff |
Can we start a thread to send to Linda, letting her know how much Jeff meant
to us all, and how much he will be missed by us?
For me, he offered me so much support and hope.
I will miss him every day.

Jeff was there for me whenever I needed to talk. When I had insomnia, when I
was upset, when I was happy, when I was mad, he was always there and tried
to help me. He talked me through a thousand sleepless nights. He always
greeted me, awknowledged me and showed me he cared. He was always there at 3
am willing to help and talk and crush the lonliness. He smoked me up at
Mena's meets, respected me, never hit on me or degraded me, never took
advantage of anyone. Jeff was strong and sweet and smart and always
encouraged me. He always had my back, always ready and willing to protect me
and stick up for me even if I was wrong. He understood, he always
understood. I'm going to miss him very much. He was always kind to everyone
he met. I will never forget the politcal rants, his knowledge of the world
and his advice which was always good. He'd never steer you in the wrong
direction. He was an awesome guy.
I miss you Jeff ! I'm sorry you had to go so soon. :-(

Jeff was a wonderful friend and a wise man. He loved his wife, Linda,
a great deal. He loved his in-laws and surrogate parents. When both
became ill, his mother-in-law with Alzheimer's, his devotion to their
care knew no bounds. He definitely loved his cats; they provided each
other with great joy.
He was brilliant. Never afraid to tell you about his well-thought-out
views on politics and world affairs. He suffered from PTSD, yet he
always had a receptive ear for fellow sufferers.
During the worst of my divorce, Jeff chatted with me night after
night, imparting hope, making jokes and discussing the spiritual ideas
we shared. Later, when his in-laws became sick, there were times when
he was exhausted and wondered if he could handle everything. I
listened and guided whenever he asked. He asked for so little, it was
a privilege to be there for him. I used to plead with him to slow down
and take care of himself. He was his own man, though, and I
ultimately respected his decisions.
Along with PTSD, he had fibromyalgia, sleep apnea and other physical
ailments. He was often in physical pain. He suffered from bouts of
insomnia. He'd fill the time by being a friend to all of us on
#freeasd.
Jeff was extraordinary. As much as I'll miss him, I'll always feel
his presence. I am comforted that his pain has ended.
Rest well, Jeff. You were a soldier of honor.

I met him at the Buffalo meet in 1998. Seemed like a very good and caring
person. He was always kind to me, and seemingly everyone, in IRC. I know
he'll be missed by many.

I met Jeff and McLindy at the Louisville meet, don't remember the year.
They were good people. I had talked to Jeff many times on IRC and he was
always nice and greeted me when ever I entered the room. He was always
jovial to me no matter what he was feeling.

Linda and Jeff are just lovely, caring and loving people. I am so incredibly
sorry to hear of Jeff's passing and my thoughts and prayers will be with Linda
at this time.
I met them both. Jeff is funny and compassionate. He was a true ASDer in the
sense that he gave so much of himself, his experiences, and his time and heart
to others. He was extremely supportive and many, many people will carry around
memories of times he jumped to the forefront to support us in our times of
need.

I met Jeff when I first went to #grinch and then followed onto #freeasd.
Jeff was always the first person to say Hi when you came in the channel, he
always offered help, guidance and caring. He had a keen sense of humour and
there were many times when I felt more like crying and Jeff would get me
laughing. I knew that he was in a great deal of emotional and physical pain
himself, but no matter how hard it was for him, he always gave of himself to
others who needed a shoulder to cry on or a friend to help take away some of
the blues. I have not been on #freeasd much the past couple of years, but
the few times I have dropped in and Jeff was there, he would just pick up
where we left off as if I had never been away. I will miss him, #freeasd
will not bee the same without @mcavity....my deepest sympathies to Linda and
thier family.....your grief is shared by many who loved him.

I knew Jeff from his kindness and support to others. Someone who
fought daily with his own demons, and from that struggle was
inspired to reach out to those who were in pain.

I don't know what to say. I hadn't been in close touch recently but I'd
think about Jeff and Linda frequently and hoped life was being kind to
them. I'm really terribly sorry. this sucks.
