is it possible? |
to have a social life again? does anyone care any more? does anyone even
remember me I wonder?
it's sorta depressing that friendships seem to take so much time and bother
to foster, but then just taper off to nothing when you're busy.
it's like, no one really cares about anyone else. it seems to affirm my
fear that everyone is a completely self-interested, emotional vaccuum.

Social life??? When "we" chose to have kids our lives aren't ours anymore.
At least if your a good parent they're not. Just wait Ty, pretty soon
they'll be grown, the years will have flown by and you'll still be young
enough to enjoy life.

Do you have any friends with kids? That can help. Eventually,
you'll at least make acquaintances with parents of their
classmates and friends and feel less isolated.

I don't think people are totally self-interested necessarily, it's just
when you have a lot of ***** to do, you have a lot of ***** to do. I
have a friend, I won't hear from him for a long time, but then
eventually we pick up wherever we left off. With kids, I can't even
imagine the responsibility, I know I couldn't handle it.
