that your paypal and/or ebay account is missing critical
information. it will be shut down in 3 days, unless you give us
the passwords and usernames to every account you have, along
with your bank account and credit card numbers. please ignore
the strange urls you might pass through on your way to the
official-looking ebay site. they mean nothing.

it would be wise to run anti spyware stuff and adaware plus a virus
scanner. the urls they want you to click on could be contaminated (is
what ebay told me after i had checked with them about a possible spoof.

Yeah - me too. Only my e-mails say something about a third party trying to
access my account and I need to go and update my account so that they can
make sure it is secure. PayPal says that is they *do* send you an e-mail,
they will address you by your first and last name. Any e-mail that addresses
you as "PayPal user" or "PayPal customer" or whatever is a hoax.
