Kylie's post is cryptic. i'm not sure if she's depressed over something
specific, or just depressed because of brain juices. who knows.
i guess i will say "hang in there" to her.

did you ever get a psychiatrist or meds or counseling? you had posted
earlier this year about that. i hope you were able to get some help, or
find a new system that works.
my psychiatrist was well known in the area, then i went with a state
psychiatrist, then i went off treatment. i never found a med cocktail that
worked. Zyprexa is ok, but i love Seroquel. i don't like the
anti-depressants, because i think they trigger anger.
i am actually a bigger fan of counseling than anything, but i have only
tried it for problems with my fiancee (at the time). it is great to *****
about stuff that i can't at work and at home. and i ***** about stuff that
i can't ***** about anywhere else. i love it!

Yeah Zyprexa is good, I agree. For me it stops the anger and thus
prevents the "impulsive aggression" (that term actually sounds worse
than it is hehe) and anger. My med cocktail has ended up being Edronax,
Epilim, Lexapro and Zyprexa.

if a novel can go for 1200 pages and have no point, why can't a Usenet post?
30 mg Zyprexa works for me, but i sleep 18 hours on it.

I only take 2.5mg of it for when i get aggitated and it makes me tired
as all hell. I can't imagine what 30mg would do.. I would sleep for a
week!

30 mg knocks me out, but i can take it when i'm unemployed. i noticed that
most of the voices and agitation disappear on that dose (of course i'm
halfway comatose, no wonder).
5 mg almost caused a bad accident driving to work at 5 AM. 10 to 15 mg is
manageable once you get a good bit in your system and adjust to it. 10 mg
was my regular dose for a long time.
50 mg Seroquel has a slight sedative effect and helped me sleep.
Risperdal is wierd. 95% of the time i get no sedation, but i can't count on
that. higher doses e.g. 6 mg get me wired and my hands almost tremble with
nervousness. Risperdal is by far the most unpredicitable of the ones i've
taken, but i feel halfway sane on it.
antipsychotics are almost more trouble than they are worth. some of them
are very hard to work or function on.
i wonder how many fatal car crashes have occured due to Zyprexa hangover,
and no one ever finds out about them.
i feel Prozac and Lexapro have cause anger issues, but i have no way to
prove this to the doctor (it's not uncommon for meds to cause restlessness
or mania which can provoke bad feelings)..

Have you ever tried Largactil? I haven't, because I don't get
psychotic. But for people ive spoken to, they say its pretty effective
for killing those pesky voices and it doesn't overly sedate you. Only
drawback, they tell me, is that they constantly get the urge to walk...
they call it the "Largactil Shuffle" (haha). :)

yeah, it's called the "thorazine shuffle" here in the US.
i did see one guy in the hospital on a ton of Haldol (a related drug) and he
was zombielike but still pacing the hallway. it tripped me out. his
personality was wiped out by that stuff (temporarily).
Thorazine is very old, but some of the posters in alt.support.schizophrenia
are on a light dose.
[***** i just zoned into reality for like 2 seconds then went back into
psychosis. argh.]

Ahh, I didn't know Largactil and thorazine was the same thing. I learn
something new every day in this newsgroup. :)

hi RJ, I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how your
son is doing.
thanks for responding. I've been in a slump since the beginning of the
year, but it's been worse these past few weeks. I think I'm just going to
go to bed and hope I can sleep until I have to get up for work in the
morning.

Thanks rj. I was a bit better today, it's just nights that suck. I'll be
busy again tomorrow and hopefully that will keep me distracted so I can't
think too much.
Be well,
