I sound like millie.
Actually, the thing is....twice I was asked in restaurants in the last
24 hours, "So, ya gonna watch the Super bowl?"
First, I said, "No, I don't do football." I don't know who is
playing, I've been going through this for 30 years. But in the
Chinese place, when she asked, I tried to over explain it. I wound up
saying, "I'm a musician, so I don't like football." My friend the
drummer liked that response, cause he didn't know there was any
national tradition taking place today either. The loneliest, or most
hilariously whacky, depending one's point of view, day in the Great
American Schedule.

That makes your computer all yellow and things inside get coated with a
sticky tar. Fans fail early and techs treat your equipment like *****
because it's nasty to open and touch. Everything that's around tobacco
seems to die an early death.
Just my mind wandering back to some customers I had at a cool little job
a couple years back...

I've seen that. It's yuk. Especially on laptops. The parts in those get
stuck together with tar.

Especially what would have just been dust bunnies. The tar traps it and
makes it into a nasty fuzzy insulation resin. I've noticed that smoker's
laptops end up getting a nice thermal blanket much faster. So they get
to hear the little fans whine more often, fail and make a racket sooner,
certainly hurts battery life, and leads to crotch burn.
They always show the smoker's lungs, but that same gross coating also
covers the whole environment. The walls get yellowed, all the stuff ends
up smelling like smoke too.
My parents smoked and and I hated it, although my dad would smoke a pipe
every now and then and I liked the smell of pipe tobacco. I had a couple
of cigarettes now and then when I was in my late teens I hated it. I
thank myself for having had 2 cigarettes back-to-back and getting
incredibly sick and thereby only having had about 10 cigarettes to date.

I bought a lot of 25 PCMCI ethernet cards once off eBay. They had been
sitting in a closet for a number of years before I bought them. They had
a thin coat of gunk on them almost like grease, and there was black gunk
in the little holes on the cards. I ended up throwing most of them out
as useless. Now I always ask when buying electronics if the seller
smokes.

I've never smoked tobacco in my life. I was already regularly smoking
pot before I was ever offered a cigarette, and so I never really felt
the need to pick it up.
