there are so many problems...pain,suffering,wars,poverty,homelessness,so
much sorrow,anger,hatred,fear,jealous,envy,greed,confusion.I wonder if
things will ever improve.how do we stop wars?there seems to be nothing
worse then war...I guess it's just human nature...maybe the key to
making things better is first working on changing ourselves?I don't
know.there are no easy awnsers...I can honestly say I don't hate
anyone though.people thought I hated Bush,but I didn't.I can't hate
because I have too much ambivalence...I can be angry, there's no doubt
about that.but I have so many mixed feelings, and my feelings change
constantly.I'm just too suspicious of any one way of feeling(when I
see it in myself or others) to hate for long, without like and love and
all kinds of other feelings mixed in...

That's a very good start. But how and to what do we change? There's where
we need some guidance.
and I agree with you; the world is very out of control, and very scary.
I don't

If you really want to learn about the reasons the world is like this, and how
to help it, and what is going to be done about it, for the better; then please
read the link I am giving you here. There are a few pages to it, so click on
the right facing arrow at the bottom as you go along, and it will get more into
the answers.
There are answers for you. I hope you find them, I think you are a very
insightful person who is genuine in his search for what is going on; by your
posts I can see that it affects you a lot, like me, and you car about what is
going on..

I looked at that site, but by page 3 my mind had punched so many holes
in the Jehovah's Witness theories that I was astonished. I similarly
giggle at the articles they write and then leave in little pamphlets in
laundry rooms.
I'm a Buddhist. Come to the faith on your own, we're not gonna knock on
your door to bug you and talk religion.

Why just look at the dark side? There is also lots of love, healing,
peace, contentment, etc. It just depends where you look.
But the world has *always* been like this. There is nothing new. When it
comes to war, there are many more ways to kill people now, and kill a lot
more of them at once. But there are a lot more people on the earth period,
so nothing has really changed.
Another thing that hasn't changed is the habit people have of wanting to
take things from others. It's such a strong habit that it is now the
foundation of our political systems. *That* is the reason why war has
become an institution.
You can find the source of all major world problems in the habits of
ordinary people.
