Yes, and I think that's why we can never really be "satisfied" with
where we are or who we are. We always have to strive to do more, be
more or whatever it is you want from yourself.

I find that whatever I can do doesn't make me feel better about myself,
but worse. I'll set myself a target that is a challenge at my level of
achievement, but when I do it, it becomes 'Well, if *I* can do it, it
must be too easy to count.' Then I'm a failure, instead of just rubbing
along, so I get discouraged from trying.

It's even worse if you happen to be a compulsive tryer... or is
that trier?
I don't know why I bother... oh, yes I do. It's because I have
to. I'm compulsive.
